After witnessing the tragic loss of colleagues in work zone accidents ALPHA SAFENET's founder, Randy, was driven to create what's now known as the OVERWATCH system. This system is designed to be simple, reliable, and effective — qualities that make it practical for widespread adoption. The OVERWATCH platform may also qualify for Federal Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) funding in many states, making it an accessible option for enhancing roadway safety.
OUR TECHNOLOGY AND HOW IT WORKS
At the heart of ALPHA SAFENET's technology is the ALPHA OVERWATCH system, a sophisticated LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) intrusion alert platform, which uses laser pulses to create precise, three-dimensional maps of the environment. This technology enables the system to detect vehicular boundary intrusions with remarkable accuracy, while filtering out non-threatening movements like small debris. When a distracted driver breaches these invisible boundaries, the system immediately triggers an extremely loud audible warning (125-decibels, but is configurable to higher levels upon request), emergency lighting, and can activate additional third-party safety systems through relay connections.

PORTABLE UNITS
The flagship, portable, OVERWATCH unit can be rapidly deployed at any roadside work zone or traffic incident scene. Once activated, it establishes a straight, invisible LiDAR barrier that monitors for intrusions that cross the barrier. If breached, the system sounds a rear-facing horn alarm, alerting both the errant driver and work zone personnel. The beauty of this system lies in its simplicity: drivers who heed the warning can self-correct, causing the alarm to discontinue automatically.

HYBRID SOLUTIONS
The hybrid ("Sentry") configuration provides comprehensive perimeter security for any geo-fenced space, including vertical zones. This solution combines multiple OVERWATCH units to create a "geo-fence" around the entire work area, as opposed to a single, linear alert zone. This "Sentry" configuration creates electronic LiDAR-based "tripwire" systems for critical infrastructure protection, property borders, and danger zones.

Recognizing that standard LiDAR monitoring can be challenged by roadway curves, angles, elevations, and low visibility conditions, Alpha Safenet developed the Rollover Activation feature. This wireless pneumatic tube device activates the audible alert when rolled over by vehicles, making it perfect for challenging terrain where line-of-sight monitoring is compromised.

Understanding the practical needs of work zone management, the Supervisor Mode allows designated personnel to enter and exit work zones without triggering alarms. This feature integrates with existing VHF/UHF radio systems, eliminating the need for additional equipment purchases while enabling supervisors to monitor multiple sites efficiently.

How is it targeted?
Portable devices are equipped with a small video targeting display.
Installed systems can be equipped with an in-cabin video targeting system.

How much does it weigh?

Is the ALPHA OVERWATCH system guaranteed foolproof?
No vehicle safety solution can guarantee 100% coverage. We recognize unpredictable terrain, weather, and human-error conditions as unpredictable factors.
Our best illustration is that of the bullet-proof vest. Does it provide 100% coverage for all scenarios? No. But it does offer an important and necessary measure of protection.
Uniquely, the Overwatch product is intended to communicate loudly and audibly with the intention of avoiding collision.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is determined by model, quantity, and options.

How soon can we arrange delivery?
A Purchase Order secures your place in line. Products can usually be shipped 45-120 days after PO. Larger items, such as Height Detection trailers may require up to six (6) weeks, build through delivery.
Can it be customized to different vehicle types?
Absolutely yes! The system is engineered as a modular augmentation to any vehicle, and can be customized for optimal installation.
What are your billing terms or other financial options?
Collection on Delivery (COD)
Large orders may require a 50% deposit prior to delivery.
Some agencies may be eligible for grants, offsetting their direct costs.
